Past Events of 2002

2002 was an exciting year. I performed at several new faires as well as seeing many major cities in the US thanks to the Karamazov tour.

Starting the year I was in Seattle for almost all of January and February rehearsing
for the Karamazov Brothers show. And just in case you were wondering, yes, it does
rain every day in winter in Seattle. The sun actually came out the very last day I was
there. It was then that I saw Mt. Reiner! It's one huge mountain!

I returned home at the beginning of March, moved into a new apartment in San Francisco
and then went out on the first leg of the Karamazov tour. We toured through Texas and
then through New England. I met many great people in Austin including The Cyclown Circus,
I'm really glad I got a chance to hang out with them!

After two months of touring with the FKB show I returned home to San Francisco, got my
wagon outfitted, and headed out on my summer/fall tour.

First stop, The
Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire for three weeks in May. In between
the weekends I went to Asheville, NC, about a ten hour drive from St. Louis to visit some
friends and see my cousin's girlfriend on her US tour. I didn't tell her I was going to be there, so I really surprised her! The faire itself was nice, aside from the flooding!

In June I headed up to Vermont for The Vermont Renaissance Festival. Three weeks in June in Vermont were great!  It wasn't too hot, and the mountains were beautiful! I set up
the juggling school and performed stage shows. This faire is really good even though
they're small, they pack a lot of things in so you feel like you're at a festival.

After the Vermont faire I headed down to Maryland to perform the show "Catch!" with the Flying Karamazov Brothers. We didn't stay too long there, but it was fun.

I then came to the Ohio Medieval Fantasy Faire from the end of June to July 28th. I
never realized it got so hot in Ohio! The faire was nice, sort of small, but there were
a lot of top acts there, such as The Tortuga Twins, Old Soles, Noble Cause, Croop and Vandermere, The Loudlies, and Jayna Lee. I also got a chance to play my mandolin with Mab from Jal A Drum for a couple of their shows.

Then it was vacation time! After spending the week with Misti and Brad from Old Soles, I
headed up to Pennsylvania for
Pennsic XXXI. Pennsic is a huge SCA event that re-enacts
life in the middle ages. However, I dare say that we party more than our medieval
counterparts ever did! Aside from partying I taught classes for Coxcomb Academy,
and performed for friends.

At the end of August I made my way to New England again for the Festival of the Lion
in Massachusetts. This was a great little faire, packed into a small site, which makes it
extremely busy! Visit the alternate web site for the faire, it's got some great pics!

I ended my Ren Faire tour with the King Richard's Faire in Carver, Mass. (about 40 minutes south of Boston). A pretty long faire than ran from the end of August to the end of October. I stayed with a few fellow performers, the Bedlam Bards and Rafferty the piper. All these fellows were great and we all became fast friends. I befriended many other people at the faire, and I dare say it was one of the funnest I attended this past year.

It was time to tour with the Flying K's again, we hit New York, Philly, back to Mass., Ohio
and ended in Chicago, where I got to see many of my friends I camp with at Pennsic.

After that, I made it to Virginia to see my folks for Thanksgiving, and then to Asheville again
to visit my friends as I headed back across the country. I also visited some really good
performer buddies of mine in New Mexico called Clan Tynker, they're an amazing group of
brothers and sisters who juggle, do stilt walking, fire eating, and many other crazy things!

December found me back in San Francisco working up my tour for 2003.
